Athol Yates has travelled extensively throughout Russia as a journalist and researcher. He has an engineering degree and graduate diploma in Soviet Studies and studied Russian at Melbourne University, Moscow's Patrice Lumumba University and Hungary's Egar Teachers' Institute. He is the author of Siberian BAM Guide for Trailblazer Publications and Russia by Rail for Bradt. He now runs the internet travel agency, Russia-Rail, based in Melbourne. |
