Jim Manthorpe
Jim Manthorpe does not like being indoors, unless it's in a remote bothy in the Highlands of Scotland. He has been walking, sleeping and ruminating in these hills for the past 20 years. After reading Environmental Science at Stirling University he started to explore some other mountainous parts of the world, from Patagonia to the Himalayas and quite a few places in between. He has been a freelance travel writer, photographer, editor and occasional public speaker since 2001 and now lives in the Scottish Highlands where he spends the rest of his time working as a ranger on the remote Knoydart peninsula.
